Calling all photographers!
Could your pictures win prizes? Enter the Waterworks competition to find out!
Why is water important?
Every known form of life on earth, from the largest mammal to the smallest microbe, relies on water. As humans, water is a resource we cannot live
without. It helps our food grow, we need it to drink, make the clothes we wear, produce the cars we drive, and to keep our bodies functioning –
the human body is made up of 65% water.
What is the Water Works competition looking for?
We are looking for photographs, taken both indoors and outdoors, which reflect how we think of water, how we use it and which problems are associated with water, such as flooding, drought, or pollution.
Who can enter and what are the prizes?
The competition will run from January to December 2012 and is open to anyone up to age 18. There will be one winning image each month and
one overall winner for the year. The monthly winners will be announced on the James Hutton Institute and Centre of Expertise for Waters websites, winning a £25 Amazon voucher, and the overall winner will be presented with a canvas print of their photograph and a £100 Amazon voucher.
Good luck!
