Remember that you do not have to tackle all ten of these topics in one go. Use the results of your Environmental Review to set realistic targets and concentrate on areas that are most relevant to your school.
Please note, however, that the Litter topic has to be covered by every school.
Many of the Ten Topics overlap or are closely related to each other. Litter, for example, is closely related to Waste Minimisation, and Transport can be linked to Health and Well-being.
You may often find that, by making progress in one area, you are taking steps towards improving your performance in another.
The Scottish Eco-Schools Guides provide an introduction to the Ten Topics and suggestions for related activities. Each topic section contains useful background information and advice. You will also find suggestions for ways to link each topic to curriculum subject areas. Remember that these activity ideas are just a starting point - all schools will come up with interesting and innovative ideas of their own.
