If you’ve registered on the Eco-Schools programme and implemented the seven elements in your school, you can apply for an Eco-Schools Award.

There are three levels of award. You can apply for any level of award as soon as you feel your school is ready.

Use the menu on the right to get an idea of what stage your school has reached and what level of award you could apply for.

The first two levels of award are the Bronze and Silver Awards. These are based on school self-assessment and are valid indefinitely.

The top level of award is the Green Flag Award. This is not based on school self-assessment - instead, our Eco-Schools Assessors will assess the school against the Green Flag Award Criteria.

The Green Flag Award must be renewed every two years.

You do not have to work through the Bronze and Silver levels before applying for a Green Flag Award but you might find that it is a useful way of encouraging your school if you are applying for an award for the first time.
